AMAYA LAKE DAMBULLA MEALS:B.D Enjoy a calm & peaceful stay by the shores of Kandalama lake Nalanda Gedige - Nalanda Gedige is an ancient complete stone temple near Matale,.The building was constructed in between 8th and 10th centuries with dravidian architecture. Yapahuwa Rock Fortress: In 1272, King Bhuvenakabahu transferred the capital from Polonnaruwa to Yapahuwa to avoid Dravidian invasions from South India, bringing the Sacred Tooth Relic with him. Following the death of King Bhuvenakabahu in 1284, the Pandyans of South India invaded Sri Lanka once again, and succeeded in plundering the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. Following its capture, Yapahuwa was largely abandoned and inhabited by Buddhist monks and religious ascetics. |

AMAYA LAKE DAMBULLA MEALS:B.D DAMBULLA - This rock temple dates back to the First Century BC. The caves of Dambulla sheltered King Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne, he built a magnificent rock temple at this site, which is now heritage listed. There is a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses and Hindu deities Vishnu and Ganesh. Skeletal remains of pre-historic human burial sites have been discovered by archaeologists in this cave dating back 2700 years. |

AMAYA LAKE DAMBULLA MEALS:B.D Polonnaruwa - A thriving city dating back to before 1070 AD now in preserved ruins. The monuments at Pollonaruwa have been well preserved. The circular relic house (Vata-da-ge) Lankathilaka, Thuparama, Royal Palace, Rankoth vihara and Galvihara with the beautiful rock-cut Buddha statues are amazing works of art. |

DOLPHIN BEACH RESORT MEALS: B.D Anamaduwa was originally an elephant kraal called Ali Maduwa ( Meaning elephants enclosure). The Tamil inhabitants called it Anti madam which eventually transformed to present day Anamaduwa. Thonigala Rock Inscription.There are two inscriptions that can be seen carved on this rock. It is worth a visit. |
